@ Pedro Bustamante - Very good, I love this
Can I embed it on an article?
@cotojo Feel free! You can find the “wide-screen” version at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-JfW4Ut8kg
@ Pedro - Thanks, I’ll post it in around 10 hours, it’s the wrong side of midnight here LOL
It’s a fantastic explanation of Cloud AV! Great job
I laughed at the computer saying “rrr!” =D
Nice, helped me understand how it works a little better. Cloud AV FTW

SCARY REPORT…
@Steve Graeff
wow, I wonder what Pedro has to say about that video!! I’m switching back to Avira free AV I guess…
@Steve Graeff There is no AV that is effective 100%. It simply does not exist and will never exist. It’s very easy to find 10 malicious URLs which can bypass *any* antivirus solution and do such a video of any AV brand. I don’t believe this video proofs anything.
Also it’s interesting that this video is performed of our product which is still beta. As you know we’re still developing and adding new funcionalities to the product, so it’s a little unfair to reach a conclusion of an unfinished product.
Btw., we’ll have a beta2 version soon that you may re-test.
Here’s a few more reviews from different people btw:

i visit this blog everyday to find out if the new beta is launched. too bad. not today i guess.
@Sushubh if you have Cloud Antivirus beta installed you don’t have to worry about visiting the website every day. Cloud Antivirus will notify you when a new version (beta2) is ready for you to download. Alternatively you can subscribe to the RSS feed of this blog (http://blog.cloudantivirus.com/feed/). As soon as beta2 is available I’ll announce it here.
Critical contradiction in the info being provided by you!!!
Your blog (http://blog.cloudantivirus.com/2009/05/04/frequently-asked-questions/) says…
“Will Panda Cloud Antivirus continue being FREE after the beta is over? YES. Absolutely. 100%. Free.”
Your FAQ (http://www.cloudantivirus.com/help/01/en/nnv_en.htm#05.htm) says…
“What happens when the Beta phase is finished?
Once the Beta period has finished, the detection capacity of the antivirus will reduce considerably as it will no longer have access to our Collective Intelligence servers.
From then on, you can get the free version and benefit from special conditions when you buy the full service.”
I just wondered, if there will be a linux or unix version of CloudAv. I love it on my windows laptop, and would like to use it on my linux desktop as well.
nice….just waiting the windows 7 version ^^
@Monojoy It’s not a contradiction. The “beta version” ie. 0.8, 0.9, etc.) will stop working once the beta is over. However at the same moment we´ll release version 1.0 which will continue being free and with full connectivity with Collective Intelligence.
@Korga not sure about that yet Korga. We´ll see after we finish the Windows version.
‘benefit from special conditions when you buy the full service’
This remains the only confusing part of that statement.
Still waiting for second beta!
@Sushubh the reason for that is that we’ll have a pro version eventually, with other features and stuff. But there will always be a free version with full functionality and connectivity to CI.
How to full uninstal(with same drivers) PCA? I am not assured, but I consider that after standard removal in system some componets were lagged behind.
@comm you should uninstall as you would normally any other application, from Control Panel, Add/Remove Applications. If you think there are some missing files please post the details here.
“other features” sounds cool, I will definitely get the pro version when it comes out. Can’t wait for beta 2, hopefully I will have more on that annoying C++ problem…I just need to leave windbg running 24/7
@Pedro Bustamante
Pro version?Again?Well,i stay with Kaspersky then.Prefer to pay to them.Good luck!
This is great video. A update in 6 minutes without being too buggy. This is a great concept no one else is able to think of. I will surely try it and can i make a post about this on my blog.
Interesting. I’ve just downloaded it, and it works great. Good job!

@DeHuC Yes I saw this and replied in a comment above. On one hand it’s trivial to find 10 URLs every day that can bypass any security product. At the lab we see hundreds and thousands of them everyday.
On the other hand in beta2 we’re including something to prevent most of these “misses”, which is a similar problem to the one you reported to me a while back.
@Pedro Bustamante
when is beta 2 arriving?! it’s been so long
@Sushubh very soon, I promise
Hello,
Will PCA update itself when beta 2 will be available?
@Nemok Beta1 will show you a small notification on the traybar, indicating that Beta2 is available and provide a download link for Beta2.
when exactly will beta 2 be ready?
While you messing around with the second beta,microsoft did a huge step ahead-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD1WfImw97E
I’m sure you cannot sleep well no more
With all my love,GOOD BYE,Panda!
yeah MSE doing a good job. thank you for Cloud Panda Beta, i’m using now the MSE.
Microsoft stated that Security Essentials will be targeted to people without current protection, however av-comparatives did give OneCare an Advanced+ rating which I believe is the same engine MSE is using. Panda does not submit to av-comparatives but ICSA Labs Passed Panda Pro but failed Panda Desktop in May 2009. http://www.icsalabs.com/icsa/topic.php?tid=d3a8$95695e0b-40700fe6$8dd1-8fc093ea
@Will We are currently certifying Panda Cloud AV with ICSA and will be included in some independent tests in the short future. I will post results here.
Btw, Panda has been certified by ICSA and West Coast Labs (CheckMark) for over 10 years now every month. What you are pointing to are issues during testing (every vendor has these, look more in-depth), but still the product is certified every month for the last 10 years!
