ICSALabs Certifies Cloud Antivirus

March 16th, 2010

icsalabs1Panda Cloud Antivirus, the best free antivirus has received the first ever ICSA Labs certification for pure cloud-based antivirus.

To achieve the ICSA Labs Anti-Virus Certification, products must meet all criteria for detection of malware. Products must demonstrate they have the capability to detect, identify and prevent self-replicating malware while reporting no false positives.

Additionally Panda Cloud Antivirus has met all criteria for cleaning of malware on desktops and servers, which includes removal of “in-the-wild” viruses from infected files and sectors. The certified products must be able to remove all viruses without adversely affecting the data or functionality that existed before the infection.

More details can be found at the ICSA Labs certification webpage:

Since we went to 1.0, I forgot I had Panda Cloud XD. Totally set and forget, I love it in its virtual absence and great detection.

I need a virus software that will allow me to access a Virtual Private Network for business applications. I tried Vipre, but could not get any support to fix the problem. I have Norton, but think it is slowing my machine to a crawl. Looking for something: paid or free to, but must have the ability to use VPN.

I hate to rain on your parade, but this product is, quite simply, rubbish.

I downloaded it onto my notebook today. It displayed nothing on desktop, so I found it in my program files and tried to open it. “Unexpected error: error code #11.” Several more tries, same result.

So I decided to deinstall it. I got a message–in Spanish!–telling me that an error had prevented deinstallation. Several more tries, same result.

I opened a Panda account and tried to post a message on the Support Forum. “Action could not be completed.” Several more tries, same result.

So now I have 64 megs of cruft cluttering up my hard drive. I guess you get what you pay for.

I’m warning all potential users against this product.

    @John Baglow

Would recommend you download Revo Uninstaller. It’s easy to use and understand. Go to the program section and click on uninstall. Check the program you want to uninstall and click on uninstall. I wouls choose the secure uninstall that will uninstall even the hardest of programs. I’ve used it before and worked great. You can down load it at Revo Uninstall.com or download.com. I would then download AVG Free edition from Downloads.com on your PC and run a full scan. Personally, never had a problem with Panda, but certain machines just won’t work with all applications.

    Good Luck.

Yeah i agree, Panda antivirus offers wide-range protection from all kind of viruses, spyware, rootkits, and several other threats. Effectiveness of Panda Antivirus increases due to induction of up-to-date computer security technology, including advanced heuristic detection and a firewall…I like this Antivirus program it is very nice will keep
    on using it…really appreciative.

@iamcreasy Yes this is correct. At the bottom of that page you will see a listing of all Panda products which are certified.

GREAT PROGRAM! It is as good as a lot of the paid antivirus programs. And believe me I have tried them all. It does not slow your computer down at all. No need to wait for updates when you first start your computer. Set it and forget it. Anyone looking for a great antivirus you got to try this. Best of all its free! Keep up the good work! Thanks Panda!

    Just a question,

If Panda cloud met all the criteria for cleaning in the wild malware why is it not certified for disinfection?

Very few of the popular free av’s are and this would certainly be a big plus

  29. July 14th, 2010 at 06:27 | #29

@User Actually PCAV is certified in both detection and disinfection, but for some reason it is not showing correctly in the ICSA webpage. I’ll contact them to make sure they correct it. Thanks for the heads-up!
