Cloud Antivirus 1.0 Final Release

November 10th, 2009

Panda Cloud Antivirus Beta is finished. Version 1.0 is finally here!

cloudav-10

First of many thanks to the millions of beta testers and specifically to those who have given us feedback and helped improve the product. We think we have fixed all the issues you have reported.

If you have any of the previous versions installed (Beta1, Beta2 or Beta3) do the following:
1- Uninstall your current version.
2- Reboot your computer.
3- Download version 1.0 from http://www.cloudantivirus.com and install.
4- If you already have an account from Beta3, you can use the same one. Otherwise the installer will prompt you to create a Cloud Antivirus account.

As a reminder, don’t forget to use the Panda Cloud Antivirus Technical Support Forum for posting any issues you might experience.

Thanks again for helping us create this great free antivirus !!! :D

Loaded 1.0 on Toshiba R600 Vista - caused blue screen - unable to uninstall so reset to factory settings (Tosh) reinstalled and let updates install (Vista) - no problems, installed Panda - caused blue screen. Able to uninstall this time - Tosh now works ok.

@JC503 & @mkh, should be fixed now. Please try again.

@Chris Do you have any other resident AV or similar program installed? If so, please visit our support forums for a solution (http://www.cloudantivirus.com/forum).

I’m curious as to where Panda stores the ‘Event Report’ log? Is it saved on our individual drives or over the cloud?

    how make update?

  7. January 3rd, 2010 at 22:15 | #7

Couldn’t make an account with a provider e-mail adres. But with the Gmail adres it was immediately ok.

  8. January 4th, 2010 at 10:26 | #8

@AL It’s stored locally, encrypted in the Event Viewer of Windows. You can see it by clicking Start, Run, type “eventvwr” and hit enter. It’s the “Nano” log. If you clear the log, the statistics on Panda Cloud Antivirus will be reset.

@andreas If you mean updating signature database, there’s no need as it doesn’t update signatures like other AVs as it works in real-time against the cloud.

@John Doe check the spam folder of the other email provider to see if it was filtered.

I just installed this AV and was impressed by how much system resources I’m saving compared to the other AV I was using,(Avira Antivir Personal Free Edition). Because of this I have noticed a little quicker boot up time using a 32 bit Windows XP Professional OS. I was impressed by the reviews I have so far read about this “cloud based” application that I uninstalled Avira which has worked well for me for several years. I’m usually the type of person to go by the rule, don’t fix something that isn’t broke, but sometimes change is good. So this product is in the “test phase” for me and hoping it works as well as claimed. Time will tell. Also, it seems compatible with a couple of other security programs I have running so far. (Zone Alarm Firewall 8.0, Spyware Terminator’s real time shield and System Protect 1.0) I did have to manually add the update file into Zone Alarm’s programs list, however, before it correctly connected to the cloud. Other than that no problem so far.

Hey Pedro, I’ve looked around, and I really want to install Panda Cloud Antivirus. However, I can’t seem to be able to install it. I am quite computer literate, just so you know. I’m running 32bit Vista on an Acer Laptop. I’ve uninstalled Avira, disabled Comodo, and tried installing under UAC and under my administrator account. I just can’t seem to solve the problem. I figured it may be that I haven’t updated my computer, but I can’t seem to update either. I did scan my computer with Avira before installing and it found nothing. I have around 200GB left on my computer, so I should have the space for it right? Any possible causes to this problem? On the side note, I was not able to install iTunes and Quicktime (just for some extra information).

I have an account with you on my pc but would also like to isnstall panda cloud on my lap top, when I try to install I keep getting a message that my email address is already being used, how do I set up on my lap top?

  13. January 9th, 2010 at 00:12 | #13

@Lightning55 In order to prevent conflicts, Panda Cloud Antivirus is pretty stringent as to not installing on any PC that has any traces left from another AV. In the failed installation log you should see the “offending” leftover trace. We also have a good listing of AV uninstallers which you might want to try before installing Panda Cloud Antivirus:
    http://www.cloudantivirus.com/forum/thread.jspa?threadID=51755&tstart=0

    @Tyler Nope, only workstations, sorry.

@Lorraine Keating Simply use the same account for activating Panda in different computers. No need to create a second account using the same email address.

This will really be a game changer in antivirus arena. Wonder why no one ever thought about it. Antivirus is one software that is hogging the PC all the time - Panda Cloud Antivirus not only addresses that, but also makes the security much better. Love it!

@Migas68 that’s the good thing about it, you don’t need to worry about updating. You can read more about how it works here:
